Spring 09 - Facilities are looking really FINE!!!
Othello High School
March 9, 2009 marked the first day of physical education classes held in the new auxiliary gymnasium at the High School. Three days later, March 12, 2009 marked the first day of classes for HS students for the third trimester for the 08-09 school year, as well as the first day classes were held in the newly remodeled 400 wing (previously referred to as the Voc/Ag facility). Freshly polished corridors, crisp clean walls, bright new lockers, new furniture, fresh paint… greeted students as the doors opened for the first classes of the third trimester. OHS staff are thrilled with their new rooms. Additionally, several staff who previously were "traveling staff", (i.e. teachers who were using other teachers' classrooms during available prep times to teach their assigned classes), now have their own room!
The facility work for the High School project is very close to completion. The site work, including a retaining wall, landscaping, sidewalks and asphalt work will be completed in April, as the daily temperatures warm to the required levels. Site work, as well as final punch list items is anticipated to be complete by the end of April. Watch for an announcement for a community open house for this facility, in late April/early May. We want YOU to come see the first accomplishments of our community bond dollars. The facilities are beautiful!
