On Tuesday, February 19, 2008 Othello School District Board of Directors presented the 2009-2010
replacement maintenance and operations levy before the Othello voters. The levy amount was the same amount requested in the 2007-2008 levy that is set to expire December 2008. As many are aware, the maintenance and operations is a special property tax that allows local citizens a way to fund school programs not funded by state or federal programs. With the additional funds, Othello School District funds the following programs: Community Schools, Highly Capable (Gifted) Program, Camp Wooten, Technology Replacement, Curriculum Adoptions, Special Education, Music Program, Speech and Debate Program, Knowledge Bowl Program, Athletics, Field Trips, Maintenance Projects, and a variety of other programs.
Othello School District would like to express our appreciation to the voters for passing the 2009-2010
replacement maintenance and operations levy. As with past levy funds, we will continue these programs in order to provide quality educational experiences for our students.
